Coronavirus has given us all the gift that money can’t buy…
During these times where everyone is under quarantine and self isolation, there has been an overwhelming factor that is a blessing in disguise. Can you think of it?
The answer is: Time.
We all now have more time than we ever thought we’d have. During our busy lives we get caught up with obligations, commitments and responsibilities. However, during this pandemic, I have become more productive than I ever been. Staying at home and only going out for essentials has given all of us more free time than we ever had. Free time to spend with our families, loved ones and our relationships. No matter how wealthy or how much money someone makes, the one thing no one can buy is time itself. We all have 24 hours in day. After our jobs and our work, it is up to us to decide which of those available hours we use to our advantage. Even those who have enough money to free up their time, cannot buy more hours in day. We all have the same amount. When our time is usually tied up to work hours, errands and necessities, it can be very difficult for us to find free time in our regular days to do the things we want. This new down time for most people in the world as a result of stay-at-home orders and social distancing has given all of us more time to do things that we enjoy (in the comfort of our homes of course).
During this quarantine, I had more time than I could have imagined to finish my online courses and studies. The extra time I have been gifted with has giving me the opportunity to re-align my goals, attempt to learn a new language and read on the side.
The time that we have all gained as a result of staying home has given us all a gift. It is up to each person to decide what they want to do with their time. Either way, something that cannot be bought with money has now suddenly become an abundance in each of our lives. And that, is a hidden blessing.
What will you do with your gift?
